What a blessing it is to be with these beautiful kids, He is so good! Today we started with an amazing devotion to help us learn and identify when God is speaking to us and how He speaks to us. The Holy Spirit had such a presence on each of us, it was truly a blessing and an incredible way to start the day.
We arrived at Canopy Life to help share lots of love and creativity on these precious kids. To get their creative juices flowing, we decided to introduce them to PUPPETS!!! Yes, you heard that right! We brought fun supplies and had each of the kids create a puppet that looked like them. It started off a little slow as they were nervous to dive into all the fun things we brought for them to use. So we had them write their favorite Bible verse on the back of the paper puppet. Once we were done, they read the verses aloud using their puppets. They then realized they can use their creativity and “bling” themselves out and within in minutes there were feathers, bows, baseball caps and even glasses being cut out for their own puppets.
It was such a joy to see that their voices are being heard and to know that they can use their own creativity to dream about what they can become… teachers, engineers, pilots, preacher, etc. We even have a super hero among us!! God is doing some incredible things with these students and teachers; I feel so honored to be among them and to be a part of the Canopy Life story. They are surrounded by so much love and it shows in every smile on everyone’s face.
