If you have kids, know a kid, or act like a kid, you’ve probably seen one of this Summer’s most fun trends floating around… SLIME! Our Canopy Life Summer team taught our students how to make their own ooey, gooey concoction. They quickly learned this stuff is SUPER easy to make and a whole lot of fun, so we decided to share the recipe with you. Here’s how it works.
You will need:
- 4 oz. School glue (We used Elmer’s)
- 4 cups Warm Water
- 1 tsp. Borax
- Glass bowl
- 2nd bowl or drinking glass for mixing Borax
- Food coloring, optional (But is it really? Food coloring is a must!)
Step 1.
Squeeze 4 oz. of school glue into your glass bowl. This is almost an entire small bottle of Elmer’s glue. In order for this step to work properly, be sure to stick your tongue out for balance as you squeeze.
Step 2.
Pour and stir in 3 cups of warm water. We used a hot water kettle to heat up our water, and this worked great.
Step 3.
For slime that is not boring, add your food coloring.
Step 4.
In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of warm water with 1 tsp. Borax.
Step 5.
Slowly add Borax water to your glue mixture.
Step 6.
Knead your mixture together. Yes, with your hands!
Step 7.
Have fun with your friends. Stretch it, throw it, mold it…the possibilities are endless. You can even make fart noises with it, but you didn’t hear that from us ;).
