Happy New Year, everyone! We ended 2017 with such a bang that it took us awhile to collect ourselves so we could share all the awesomeness.
As you might know, we had a goal to raise $350,000 by the end of the year for our new campus in Koma Hill, Kenya. This is almost triple anything we’ve ever tried to raise before and you guys came around it in an incredible way. We even had a donor who matched every gift given before December 31, up to a total of $175,000!
Thanks to your generosity and the matching gift of our generous donor, we raised over $290,000 in just 4 months! While we still need to raise $60,000 to complete our classroom building, you gave more than enough to get the ball rolling on our new campus and we have already set things in motion for construction.
Updated timelines say we will finalize approvals with county and government offices by late spring to break ground, and that construction will be completed by fall 2018. We are so grateful for Mind Bridge Academy who has continued their partnership with Canopy students through the 2018 school year.
