We like to flip things around at Canopy Life and sponsorship engagement is no exception. Raise your hand if you think about writing your sponsor student a couple of times a year. Put your hand down if you actually write your sponsor student a couple of times a year. We see all of those hands still up in the air. Now, wave them like you just don’t care BECAUSE we’ve made authentic and genuine engagement with your sponsor student easy.

How? SPONSOR BOX! Sponsor Box is a spurt work project that allows sponsors to collect and create a year’s worth of engagement in a very short span of time. Sponsors send us all of the items on the lists below at once and we carry those items to Kenya. Once in Kenya, these items are dispersed to students throughout the school year. We try our best to capture photos the students receiving these gifts to share with our sponsors. This allows for more frequent engagements between sponsor and student to continue to take place without any dependency on a sponsor’s time from month to month.

Sponsor Box is a unique engagement opportunity and participation is completely voluntary. If a sponsor does choose to particiapte, we have found that they LOVE this way of sharing encouragement and engaging with their sponsor students throughout the year.

How it works:

STEP ONE: GATHER

Gather each item on the lists below. The items on the “Optional Extras” list are general supplies for the Canopy Life Academy campus and are optional additions to your Sponsor Box.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS:

• Party Supplies (balloons, streamers, decor, etc.)
• Geometry Set (1 set)
• Assorted Gel Pens or Pencils (1 pack)

STEP TWO: LABEL & PACK

Remove any plastic or packaging from each item and place them into a paper bag or envelope. Label each paper back or envelope with the following: 

1. The name of the item 

2. Your name

3. Sponsor student’s name

Once all the items are labeled, pack them into a box or shipping envelope. 

STEP THREE: MAIL IT

Add the shipping address to your box or shipping envelope and mail or hand deliver by MAY 10TH, 2024.
